Day 1: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

Your safari begins with pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Your guide meets you in the morning. You drive west toward Lake Mburo National Park. The journey takes approximately four hours. You stop at the Equator for photos and demonstrations.

You arrive at your lodge near Lake Mburo in the early afternoon. After lunch, you go for an afternoon game drive. Lake Mburo is known for zebras, impalas, elands, and giraffes. You also see warthogs, waterbucks, and Cape buffalo. The park is small but beautiful, with acacia woodland and open savanna.

You return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you drive south toward Bwindi. The journey takes approximately five hours. You pass through rolling hills, tea plantations, and small villages. You stop for lunch en route.

You arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the late afternoon. Check in, rest, and enjoy dinner. Your guide briefs you on tomorrow’s gorilla trek. You prepare your daypack for the morning.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

This is the main day of your Bwindi safari with wildlife. You wake early, have breakfast, and drive to the park headquarters. Arrive by 7:00 AM for registration and briefing. You are assigned to a gorilla family based on your fitness level. Your group, led by a ranger guide, drives to the trailhead.

The trek begins. You hike through the forest. The duration varies from thirty minutes to four hours. When you find the gorillas, you have one hour. Watch them feed, play, groom, and rest. The silverback watches you calmly. Time passes quickly.

After your hour, you hike back to the trailhead. Your driver takes you to your lodge. Rest and enjoy dinner. You receive a certificate of trekking.

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you drive north toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes approximately four hours. You pass through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. You stop to search for lions resting in fig trees.

You arrive at your lodge near the park in the early afternoon. After lunch, you rest or explore the lodge grounds. In the late afternoon, you go for a short game drive near the lodge. You see elephants, buffalo, and antelopes.

You return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

This is a full day of wildlife viewing. You wake early for a morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains. This is the best area for lions. You also see elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, and warthogs. The sunrise over the savanna is spectacular.

After the game drive, you return to your lodge for breakfast and rest. In the early afternoon, you go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This is the highlight of Queen Elizabeth. You see hundreds of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and buffalo along the shore. The bird life is extraordinary: African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and storks.

After the boat cruise, you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Return Journey
